On July 12th the Tappan Fire Department was dispatched just up the street from the fire house for a vehicle fire. 21-1(chief) notified all responding units that the car had struck a telephone pole and had caught fire. The crew stretched a line and extinguished the fire quickly. Orange and Rockland arrived on scene and cut power to the telephone pole. There were no serious injuries to the driver or any firefighters.
