Santa Claus paid an early visit to the local residents of Tappan on Saturday December 17th at their down town fire house. The many members of the fire department who contributed to the special occasion had many activities, and snacks and beverages for the children and their parents to do while they awaited Santa's arrival. Such activities were, Dart Toss, to break balloons for prizes, bottle ring toss, and other exciting games of chance. The Tappan Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary hand made chocolate candies on a stick in the shape of a fire truck, with some of the sticks containing colored tips to also win some prizes. Santa visited with approximately 156 children while he visited the area.
