Tappan F.D. Responds to Backhoe Fire

On December 2, 2015, at approximately 12:45 hrs, Tappan FD was toned out for a reported backhoe fire at the address of 117 Route 303. On arrival, first due engine 21-1501, reported a fully involved backhoe fire, and began to stretch a line handled by Ex-Chiefs Healey and Garrecht. While second arriving engine, 21-1500 blocked traffic on the northbound lane, Lieutenant Abraham (21-5) had 21-1250 stretch a second line to extinguish the fire. Units made quick work of the situation and cleared the scene within 30 minutes.
