With deep regret and profound sadness, the Volunteer Fire Association of Tappan announces the passing of life member Leo Canzoneri,

Leo’s unwavering commitment was evident in his active participation on numerous committees, reflecting his dedication to the betterment of our department.

In addition to his contributions to the Volunteer Fire Association, Leo honorably served in the US Army during the Korean War from 1953 to 1960, further exemplifying his dedication to service and country.

We are saddened to share the details of the funeral arrangements as we prepare to honor Leo’s legacy:

Visitation Services:
-Date & Time: Friday, March 1st from 2 pm-4 pm & 7 pm-9 pm.
-VFAT Service: A Firematic Service will be held at 7:30 pm during the evening visitation.
-Location: Moritz Funeral Home, Rt. 303, Tappan

Funeral Service:
-Date & Time: Saturday, March 2nd, Mass at 9:30 am.
-Location: Our Lady of the Sacred Heart, Tappan.

*Following the Mass, a procession will depart from the church, heading towards Washington St. for a final call and salute, prior to the burial at Tappan Cemetery.

In this difficult time, our thoughts and prayers are with Leo’s family, friends, and all who knew him. His legacy of service and dedication will forever be remembered and cherished within our community.
