On Saturday September 9th the Volunteer Fire Association of Tappan participated in the 111th annual Rockland County Fire Association Parade Hosted by SW Johnson SFE Co1

Days leading up to this event the VFAT membership spent hours preparing our 2016 Spartan/Smeal Engine (21-1502)
All the hard work and preparation payed off as Chief Christopher Farrell and the VFAT membership in attendance was awarded with a 2nd place trophy for best overall pumper 2012 or newer

It is with deep regret that the Volunteer Fire Association of Tappan announces the passing of 66 year life member, Joseph McKenna Sr

Tappan Fire Department, August 30

In his younger years he was a member of the Piermont fire department, proudly serving on the first dive team in New York State.

Joe was a past president of the Volunteer Fire Association of Tappan and involved with many committees including the 300 Club.

Joe also proudly served his country in the Unites States Navy and was a member of the Carl A. Schelin American Legion post 1271.
