Members of T.F.D participated in a mutual aid drill with our neighboring departments on the morning of May 15, 2016. The VFAT was recognized for their efforts of the 1st annual Tappan Cleanup. Before the start of the regularly scheduled town board meeting, Superintendent of the Orangetown Highway Dept. Another Backhoe fire in Tappan!

On the afternoon of April 21, 2016, the volunteers of Tappan were alerted for a fire in the vicinity of Western Hwy. On arrival Asst. Chief Holihan (21-2) confirmed a backhoe on fire with extension into the mulch pile in the surrounding area. Asst. 2016 Annual Installation Dinner

The VFAT in conjunction with volunteers from "Keep Rockland Beautiful" worked together to sponsor a cleanup day in Tappan. VFAT members along with their families set out the morning of April 10, 2016 to cleanup various spots throughout the town. On the morning of Feb 24th, 2016, the weather was not the ideal conditions for the morning commute. Rain, wind, and cold temps were all factors that led to a vehicle to spin out of control heading 303 northbound shortly after 6AM. Sunday continues to be a busy day for Tappan volunteers

On Sunday afternoon, Tappan F.D. was dispatched for a reported flooding condition at a residential home . En-route during dispatch Assistant Chief Werner (21-2) was notified that the caller was reporting over 6 feet of water in the basement.
